Behringer ULTRAGAIN DIGITAL ADA8200 convertitore AD/DA 8 canali, 24 bit/48 kHz, I/O XLR, montabile in rack

The Behringer ULTRAGAIN DIGITAL ADA8200 is an 8-channel AD/DA converter and mic preamp unit designed for converting multi-track digital signals to analog and vice versa. It fits a single rack space and uses MIDAS-designed mic preamps together with Cirrus Logic reference-class A/D and D/A converters to deliver 24-bit resolution at 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rates and a measured frequency response up to 24 kHz (at 48 kHz sample rate). Connections include balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS, unbalanced 1/4" TS inputs, rear-panel XLR line outputs, and ADAT optical I/O supporting up to 8 channels.

Advantages

The ADA8200 provides professional-quality signal conversion with low distortion and effective preamplification in a compact, single-rack format. Upgraded Cirrus Logic converters and MIDAS-designed mic preamps improve dynamic range and clarity compared with earlier models. Its ADAT I/O enables straightforward integration with digital recorders, interfaces, and mixers, while balanced and unbalanced analog I/O offers flexible connectivity.

Suitable for

• Expanding ADAT-equipped audio interfaces or mixers with eight additional analog channels
• Recording studios and live-sound rigs needing reliable AD/DA conversion
• Multitrack tracking with external preamps and digital patching

• Resolution: 24-bit
• Sample rates: 44.1 / 48 kHz
• Frequency response: 10 Hz – 24 kHz (at 48 kHz sampling)
• THD: 0.008% (manufacturer data)
• Maximum input level: 48 V (product data)
• Analog connectors: XLR (balanced), 1/4" TRS (balanced), 1/4" TS (unbalanced)
• Digital I/O: ADAT (TOSLINK) optical, up to 8 channels
• Rack mounting: Yes; Weight: 2.1 kg

How to use

Connect the ADA8200 to your ADAT-equipped interface or mixer via the TOSLINK optical cable for digital transfer of up to eight channels. For analog recording, plug microphones or line sources into the MIDAS-designed mic preamps using XLR or TRS/TS inputs as appropriate, set the unit’s clocking mode to match your system (internal or external), and route outputs from the rear-panel XLR connectors to your recorder, interface, or mixing console. Use the front-panel controls to adjust preamp gain and monitor levels.

Recommendations

When integrating with other ADAT devices, ensure a single, stable word clock source. Avoid known compatibility configurations with certain MOTU 2408 setups: do not run the MOTU 2408 in PCI Mode via a MOTU PCI-424 card while the ADA8200 is set to SYNC = SLAVE and receives clock from the MOTU 2408 with the ADA8200 optical output connected to the MOTU ADAT input.
