Disco fisso interno DELL 8 TB 7.2K 3.5 SAS 12G C5HD0 - Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM 3,5 inch

Enterprise-class 3.5-inch SAS hard drive Dell C5HD0 8TB is a high-capacity mechanical drive designed for server and storage array environments. The drive provides 8TB of raw storage on a 3.5-inch form factor with a SAS interface, intended for use in data centers, backup systems and archival arrays that require large, reliable spinning-disk capacity. The Dell C5HD0 is compatible with Dell systems as well as many third-party enclosures that support standard SAS connections and 3.5-inch drive bays.

Advantages

The drive combines large storage capacity with enterprise-focused reliability features typical of SAS-class disks, offering predictable performance for mixed-use workloads. Its 3.5-inch form factor simplifies integration into standard server trays and storage shelves, while the SAS interface ensures broad compatibility with enterprise controllers and backplanes. The mechanical design provides cost-efficient per-terabyte storage compared with small-form-factor or all-flash alternatives.

Suitable for

• Data center bulk storage and cold archives
• Backup repositories and snapshot targets
• High-capacity storage trays in SAN and NAS appliances
• Mixed-use workloads where large sequential throughput and capacity are needed

Key specifications

• Form factor: 3.5-inch
• Interface: Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)
• Capacity: 8 TB

How to use

Install the drive into a compatible 3.5-inch drive bay or storage enclosure that supports SAS connections. Ensure the host controller or backplane is configured to accept enterprise SAS drives and that firmware and drivers are up to date. For RAID deployments, follow your controller vendor’s recommended rebuild and verification procedures after adding the drive. Monitor SMART attributes and drive health through your server management tools to detect any early signs of degradation.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, operate the drive within the enclosure’s specified temperature and humidity ranges, maintain proper airflow, and use RAID or backup strategies appropriate to your data availability requirements. Use the Dell C5HD0 8TB in mixed or cold-storage tiers where cost-effective high capacity is the priority.
