HP Elite t660 Thin Client SFF - Intel Processor U300E - 8 GB DDR5 - 32 GB eMMC Flash - IGEL OS 12 - Wi-Fi 6 - nero

The HP Elite t660 is a compact Small Form Factor (SFF) desktop thin client built for enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and cloud-computing deployments. Powered by an Intel Processor U300E, 8 GB DDR5 RAM and 32 GB eMMC flash storage, it delivers reliable, centrally managed endpoint performance in a slim, energy-efficient chassis running IGEL OS 12.

Advantages

The Intel U300E (5 cores, 6 threads, 1P+4E hybrid architecture) provides efficient performance for VDI sessions, web applications and video conferencing with very low power consumption. IGEL OS 12 is a purpose-built, read-only Linux-based thin client operating system that integrates with IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) for zero-touch provisioning, centralized policy management and rapid endpoint recovery. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Gigabit Ethernet ensure flexible, high-throughput networking, while dual DisplayPort 1.4 outputs support two monitors for productivity. Hardware security features include HP Sure Start firmware protection and TPM 2.0 for enterprise-grade endpoint security.

Suitable for

• VDI environments running Citrix, VMware Horizon or Microsoft AVD
• Call centres, shared workspaces and hot-desking deployments
• Centrally managed IT fleets requiring low-touch provisioning and maintenance
• Energy-conscious enterprises seeking lower desktop power consumption

How to use

Connect monitors to the two DisplayPort outputs and attach peripherals to the USB ports. Connect the power adapter and power on. IGEL OS 12 boots from its read-only partition and connects to the IGEL UMS for automatic policy and application delivery. Enrol the device in your IGEL UMS console and assign a profile to configure VDI client software, network settings and security policies without local configuration. Connect via Wi-Fi 6 or Gigabit Ethernet as required by your network infrastructure.

Recommendations

For the lowest maintenance overhead, manage all HP Elite t660 devices centrally through IGEL UMS with automatic OS update channels; keep the firmware updated via HP Sure Start for maximum security, and consider using Gigabit Ethernet over Wi-Fi for latency-sensitive VDI protocols such as Citrix HDX or VMware Blast Extreme.
