Lenovo ThinkStation P620 AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5945WX 64 GB DDR4-SDRAM 1 TB SSD Windows 11 Pro Tower workstation nero

The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 is a tower workstation built around the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5945WX processor with a base frequency of 4.1 GHz and a boost up to 4.5 GHz. Equipped with 64 GB of DDR4-SDRAM and a 1 TB SSD, and delivered with Windows 11 Pro, this workstation is designed for sustained, multi-threaded performance in professional environments. The system comes in a black chassis and includes a 1000 W power supply, making it suitable for demanding compute and storage workloads while maintaining a stable power envelope.

Advantages

The combination of the Threadripper PRO 5945WX processor and 64 GB of DDR4 memory provides high multi-core throughput for parallel workloads such as rendering, simulation and large dataset processing. A 1 TB SSD offers fast system and application responsiveness and reduces load times for large files. The included Windows 11 Pro operating system supports modern security and management features for professional use. The tower form factor and robust 1000 W power supply permit future expansion and reliable operation under sustained load.

Suitable for

• 3D rendering and visual effects workflows
• CAD, CAM and engineering simulations
• Data analysis, scientific computing and large dataset processing
• Software development and virtualisation with multiple VM instances
• Content creation and post-production

How to use

Place the workstation on a stable, well-ventilated surface with at least 10–15 cm of clearance around vents to ensure adequate airflow. Connect display, keyboard, mouse and any external storage or peripherals required for your workflow. Use Windows 11 Pro to configure user accounts, security settings and network connections before installing professional applications and device drivers. For sustained heavy workloads, monitor system temperatures and performance using manufacturer-recommended utilities and ensure power and cooling are adequate.

Recommendations

For optimal long-term performance, install the latest firmware and Windows updates, use certified drivers for any discrete GPUs or add‑in cards you add later, and consider configuring regular backups for critical projects. If you plan GPU-accelerated tasks, verify compatibility and cooling requirements when adding a graphics card to the tower chassis.
