Connecting to a TV is easy
Compatible TVs can automatically turn themselves on when they detect the Nintendo Switch 2 system powering on while docked. The system supports Consumer Electronics Control (CEC), where the TV automatically detects and changes to the correct input. And with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), you can even have your compatible TV automatically change to its game-mode setting.

The stand on the back of the system can be adjusted to any angle up to 150 degrees—allowing you to freely find the comfiest placement, no matter where you're playing.

Attach and detach with ease
The Nintendo Switch 2 system comes with two Joy-Con™ 2 controllers.

When you move the Joy-Con 2 controllers close to the sides of the system, they'll snap into place thanks to built-in magnets.

These strong magnets keep the controllers attached firmly to the system at all times. Simply press the release button on the back to disengage the magnetic lock—and off they come.

Accessories like the Joy-Con 2 wheel (sold separately) also take advantage of the new connection.

Enhanced sticks and buttons
The Left and Right Sticks are now larger and easier to rest your thumbs on. They also move more smoothly than before, with reduced noise.

The L and R Buttons are now longer, too, and the SL and SR Buttons are bigger for greater comfort and control when playing with a Joy-Con 2 held on its side.

A streamlined wrist strap
The Joy-Con 2 strap makes it easier to get into the game. Snap it on easily—and pop it off with the touch of a button. Handy for whenever you play using motion controls.

Mouse controls are a breeze thanks to smoother gliding and better stability provided by the wider base of the wrist strap.

HD rumble 2
From a faint quiver to a powerful shake that'll leave an impression, HD rumble 2 powers up the fidelity and capability of force feedback.

HD rumble 2 responds quickly to in-game action and can convey even more complex rumble patterns, creating a more refined tactile feeling.

Mouse controls using Joy-Con 2
See those little sensors on the colorful sides of both Joy-Con 2 controllers? Place the sensors faced down on a surface and slide the controllers around to use them like a mouse in compatible games.

Whether passing one controller to a friend for multiplayer fun or using both yourself, mouse controls open up even more ways to play.

You can easily start a voice chat anytime, anywhere with GameChat and the built-in microphone of Nintendo Switch 2. Whether in TV mode, tabletop mode, or handheld mode, your friends are never far away.

Up to four people can share their screens in the same GameChat session.

Connect anytime with the C Button
There's a new C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 controller. Press it to easily bring up GameChat at any time, even if you're in the middle of a game.

While using GameChat, use the C Button to pull up chat controls as you need them, like muting or leaving the chat.

Chat it up using the built-in mic
Nintendo Switch 2 has a built-in microphone on the top of the system. No additional accessories are required to spark up a conversation with friends.

It also uses noise-cancelling technology to filter sounds, so your voice will come through clearly.

The mic also conveniently adjusts the volume of your voice that it picks up. This helps your friends comfortably hear you, whether you're playing in a large space with others or tucked away in a quiet room.

Connect a camera for video chat
Make it a video chat with the Nintendo Switch 2 camera or a compatible USB-C®-connected camera (each sold separately).

You can easily check compatibility using the Test USB Camera feature located in the Nintendo Switch 2 system settings.

How to use

Power on the console and follow the on‑screen setup to connect to a Wi‑Fi 6 network and sign in to your Nintendo account. Attach the Joy‑Con 2 controllers magnetically for handheld play or remove them for tabletop and local multiplayer. To play on a TV, place the system in the compatible dock and connect the dock to a TV via HDMI; the dock also provides fan‑assisted ventilation. Insert a microSD Express card into the card slot to expand storage, if needed. Use the touchscreen, analogue sticks and buttons to control games; the C Button on the right Joy‑Con 2 provides quick access to GameChat features.

Recommendations

For best performance, keep system software up to date, use a stable Wi‑Fi 6 connection for online play and downloads, and store large game files on a microSD Express card to preserve internal flash space. When docking for TV play, ensure the dock has proper ventilation and use a compatible HDMI cable and TV that support HDR and higher frame rates for the fullest visual experience.
