Piccozza Black Diamond Raven 60 cm con impugnatura

The Black Diamond Raven Ice Axe is a classic mountaineering tool built for glacier travel and self-arrest, offering a reliable combination of lightweight construction and durable materials. Its 60 cm straight shaft is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum, providing strength without unnecessary weight, while the investment-cast stainless steel head and spike deliver secure placements and efficient chopping. The dual-density molded grip ensures a comfortable and secure hold, even in wet or cold conditions. Certified to UIAA Type B standards, this axe is a trusted companion for alpine routes, ski mountaineering, and general mountaineering.

Advantages

The Raven Ice Axe excels in versatility and durability. The aggressive pick geometry bites confidently into hard snow and ice, while the wide adze chops steps and clears belay ledges with ease. The trapezoidal shaft cross-section enhances strength and ergonomics, reducing hand fatigue during prolonged use. Carabiner-compatible holes in both the head and spike allow for easy attachment to a harness or pack, and the axe is compatible with a leash (sold separately) for added security. Weighing just 15.4 oz, it won't weigh you down on long approaches.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, pair the Raven Ice Axe with a lightweight leash and practice self-arrest techniques regularly. Inspect the pick and spike for sharpness before each outing, and store the axe in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
