Preamplificatore audio WARM AUDIO WA73-EQ — monocanale, nero, 20–20.000 Hz, ingresso 1200 Ω, 115/230 V

The WARM AUDIO WA73-EQ is a single-channel, black audio preamplifier that recreates the classic '73-style mic preamp tone for studio recording, tracking and mixing. Covering a frequency range of 20–20,000 Hz and offering up to 80 dB of gain with a 1200 Ω input impedance, the WA73-EQ combines a fully discrete Carnhill Transformer balanced signal path with an integrated EQ section. Hand-wired and hand-assembled, powered from 115/230 V (50/60 Hz) mains, this unit is designed for professional and project studios requiring vintage-inspired tonal character and reliable build quality.

Advantages

The WA73-EQ delivers a sonically accurate reproduction of the revered '73-style preamp sound through custom UK Carnhill transformers and carefully selected signal path components. Its hand-wired construction and use of tantalum and polystyrene capacitors preserve tonal integrity and provide smooth behavior at high gain. Dual concentric switch potentiometers from Blore Edwards ensure durable and precise EQ control. The result is a versatile preamplifier that offers both musical coloration when pushed and transparent gain when used conservatively.

Suitable for

• Recording vocals and spoken word with vintage-style warmth.
• Tracking acoustic and electric guitars, bass and keyboards.
• Processing drums, percussion and orchestral instruments.
• Re-amplifying mixes or individual tracks for tonal shaping.
• Project and professional studio setups requiring a single-channel '73-style preamp with EQ.

How to use

Connect a microphone or line-level source to the input and route the balanced output to your audio interface or console. Set input gain to achieve a healthy level without clipping, using the preamp’s gain control and monitoring input meters on your recording system. Apply the integrated EQ to taste via the dual concentric pots to shape low, mid and high bands; use conservative boost/cut settings when tracking to preserve headroom and apply more aggressive tonal shaping during mixing or re-amping. Engage transformer saturation by increasing input level if subtle harmonic coloration is desired.

Recommendations

Use the WA73-EQ with a variety of microphone types — condenser, dynamic and ribbon — to explore its tonal versatility. For clean capture, start with unity or modest gain and adjust EQ minimally during tracking; for character and warmth, drive the input to introduce gentle transformer saturation. Maintain proper gain staging and use quality balanced cabling to preserve signal integrity.
