Cavo USB Goobay 96117 USB 3.2 Gen 1 5m USB A nero

The Goobay 96117 USB cable is a 5-metre male-to-male USB A cable compliant with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (also referred to as USB 3.1 Gen 1) standards. Designed for extended reach, the cable provides high-speed data transfer and backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. The black jacket offers a neutral, unobtrusive appearance suitable for home and office setups.

Advantages

The cable supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 data rates, enabling faster file transfers compared with legacy USB 2.0 connections while remaining compatible with older USB ports. Its 5 m length allows flexible device placement without the immediate need for additional extenders or hubs. The male-to-male USB A connectors are widely compatible with host devices and peripherals that accept standard A-type plugs. The black PVC outer jacket resists everyday wear and integrates visually with most workspaces.

Suitable for

• Connecting external hard drives and SSD enclosures to desktop or laptop USB A ports
• Linking printers, scanners and multifunction devices to a host computer
• Extending the reach of USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice and audio interfaces where a male-to-male A connection is supported
• Temporary or semi-permanent connections in office, studio or home environments

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 metres
• USB standard: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (backward compatible with USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 and USB 2.0/1.1)
• Connector type: USB A male to USB A male
• Color: Black
• Typical use: Data transfer and device connectivity

How to use

Ensure both devices accept standard USB A male connectors before connecting. Insert one USB A plug into the host device (for example a PC or laptop) and the other into the peripheral (for example an external drive or printer). For optimal performance, connect both devices to USB 3.2 Gen 1-capable ports; when either device or port is USB 2.0 or 1.1, transfer speeds will default to the lower standard. Avoid sharp bends near the connector ends and do not place heavy objects on the cable to maintain signal integrity.

Recommendations

For sustained high-speed transfers, use the cable between devices with USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and avoid coiling the cable tightly during operation. If you require longer runs than 5 m, consider using an active repeater cable or a powered USB hub to preserve data speed and reliability.
