3M Scotch Basic 2010 36 mm x 50 m beige

Masking tape 3M Scotch Basic 2010 36 mm x 50 m beige is a crepe paper tape intended for painting, surface protection and light bundling tasks. The 36 mm width and 50 m roll length make it suitable for covering edges, masking trim and securing protective films during short-term jobs. The tape adheres to painted surfaces, glass and metals and is formulated for clean removal after short-term use without leaving significant adhesive residue when applied and removed according to surface recommendations.

Advantages

The crepe paper backing provides conformability to irregular surfaces and simple tearability by hand for fast application. The pressure-sensitive adhesive offers reliable initial tack on common substrates while allowing removal without surface damage under appropriate conditions. The beige color gives a neutral appearance that is easy to see during application and does not interfere visually with paint lines or surface inspection.

Key specifications

• Backing material: crepe paper
• Colour: beige
• Width: 36 mm
• Length: 50 m
• Adhesive type: pressure-sensitive
• Typical use: short-term masking and protection
• Removability: clean removal recommended within short-term exposure

How to use

Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease or loose particles before applying the tape. Measure and cut the required length by hand or with a cutting tool, press the tape firmly along the edge to ensure contact and smooth out any bubbles. After the job is completed, remove the tape at a low angle and steady pull; removal is generally clean after short-term application. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high temperatures to reduce the risk of adhesive transfer.

Recommendations

For best results, apply at moderate temperatures (typically above 10°C) and test on an inconspicuous area if working with delicate or newly painted surfaces. Do not use for long-term outdoor masking or for holding heavy objects; select a specialty tape for extended exposure or higher adhesion requirements.
