Adattatore WLAN Joy-IT Banana Pi BananaPi-ANT5DB con antenna 5 dBi

The Joy-IT Banana Pi WLAN Adapter with a 5 dBi external antenna is a compact USB network interface designed to add or improve Wi‑Fi connectivity for Banana Pi boards and other compatible single-board computers. The adapter provides an external antenna connection and a fixed 5 dBi antenna that increases signal reception and transmission range compared with typical onboard Wi‑Fi modules, making it suitable for small servers, embedded devices and networked prototypes.

Advantages

This WLAN adapter offers enhanced wireless range and more stable reception due to its 5 dBi external antenna. Its form factor is suitable for compact setups and single-board computers; the adapter is easy to connect and does not require additional space inside enclosures. The design supports straightforward installation on systems that accept external USB network interfaces and helps reduce signal dropouts in environments with weak coverage.

Suitable for

• Adding or upgrading Wi‑Fi on Banana Pi and similar single-board computers
• Home network clients and small NAS projects
• IoT devices and embedded applications requiring improved wireless range
• Prototyping and development where external antenna performance is needed

Key specifications

• Interface: USB (for connection to single-board computers and hosts)
• Antenna gain: 5 dBi external antenna
• Frequency band: 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi operation
• Form factor: compact USB dongle with screw-on external antenna
• Compatibility: designed for Banana Pi boards and compatible systems supporting USB network adapters

How to use

Plug the WLAN adapter into an available USB port on the Banana Pi or compatible host, attach the supplied 5 dBi antenna and position the antenna for optimal reception. Install any required drivers or enable the adapter in the operating system network settings; many Linux distributions for single-board computers automatically detect common USB Wi‑Fi adapters. After driver installation, configure SSID and security settings via the system network manager or command-line tools, then connect and verify signal strength and link quality.

Recommendations

Place the antenna vertically and avoid metal obstructions near the adapter to maximize range. For environments with heavy interference, try different antenna orientations or a short USB extension cable to relocate the adapter for better line-of-sight to the access point. Ensure the host operating system supports the USB Wi‑Fi chipset or install the appropriate driver package before deployment.
