Antenna settoriale Ubiquiti AM-5G17-90

The Ubiquiti AM-5G17-90 Sector Antenna is a Carrier-class 2x2 dual-polarity MIMO sector antenna for the 5 GHz band. With 17.1 dBi gain, dual polarization and a horizontal beamwidth of 72°, it is intended to pair with RocketM radios (sold separately) to form a high-capacity basestation for outdoor wireless networks. Its compact dimensions (367 × 63 × 41 mm), low VSWR (1.5:1) and 1.1 kg weight make it suitable for mounting on masts and poles in provider and enterprise deployments.

Advantages

The antenna uses Ubiquiti airMAX TDMA technology when combined with compatible radios, which schedules transmission using time slots to reduce hidden-node collisions and improve airtime efficiency. This approach improves latency, throughput and scalability compared with standard Wi‑Fi systems. The antenna provides intelligent QoS support to prioritise voice and video traffic and is designed for long-distance, carrier-class links with high capacity.

Suitable for

• Outdoor wireless base stations paired with RocketM radios
• WISP backhaul and sector coverage deployments
• High-capacity links requiring dual-polarity MIMO
• Networks prioritising voice/video traffic

How to use

Mount the sector antenna on a suitable mast or pole with appropriate mounting hardware, orienting the 72° horizontal beam to cover the intended sector. Connect to a compatible RocketM radio (sold separately) using the recommended cabling and follow the radio manufacturer’s installation and alignment procedures. Configure the radio to use airMAX mode to take advantage of TDMA scheduling and set QoS rules for voice/video as required.

Recommendations

For best performance, install the antenna at a clear line-of-sight location, ensure secure mechanical mounting, and use quality RF cabling. Verify alignment and radio configuration after installation and monitor throughput and latency to adjust settings for optimal carrier-class links.
