AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J7M 10G cavo ottico attivo 7 m

The AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J7M 10G 7M active optical cable is a factory-terminated SFP+ form factor link designed for short-reach, high-bandwidth connections. This 7-metre active optical cable supports 10 Gbps data rates and is intended for direct connection between network switches, servers and other SFP+ ports. With optical transmission inside the cable, it reduces electromagnetic interference and provides consistent low-latency performance suitable for data centre and enterprise rack environments.

Advantages

The active optical design delivers lower insertion loss and improved signal integrity compared with long copper assemblies at similar distances, while keeping power consumption and heat generation low. A fixed-length 7 m assembly simplifies cabling planning by eliminating separate transceivers and patch cords, reducing the number of contact points and potential failure sources. The SFP+ form factor ensures broad compatibility with equipment that accepts standard SFP+ modules and AOC assemblies.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 10 Gbps links between switches in the same rack or adjacent racks
• Server-to-switch connections in data centre and enterprise environments
• High-throughput storage and compute interconnects requiring low latency
• Network refreshes where compact, low-EMI cabling is required

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ on both ends (active optical cable)
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 7 metres (fixed)
• Transmission medium: optical fibre within an integrated cable assembly
• Use case: short-reach, direct-attach for SFP+ ports
• Typical benefits: low latency, reduced electromagnetic interference, simplified cabling

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP+ plug into the corresponding SFP+ port until the latch clicks; no separate transceivers or fibre patching is required. Ensure both network devices support AOC SFP+ modules and that port settings on switches or servers are configured for 10 Gbps operation if manual configuration is needed. Route the cable to avoid tight bends; maintain bend radii consistent with manufacturer recommendations to avoid signal degradation. When removing the cable, release the latch and pull straight out to avoid damage to the ports.

Recommendations

Use the 7 m active optical cable for intra-rack or adjacent-rack 10 Gbps connections where reduced EMI and compact cabling are priorities. Avoid sharp bends, excessive tensile stress or exposure to liquids; verify compatibility with your switch or server vendor's supported transceiver list if strict vendor interoperability is required.
