The ARCTIC Freezer 50 TR is a dual-tower CPU cooler with two P-series fans in push-pull configuration. A-RGB for Full Colour Control

The 13 A-RGB LEDs installed in the Freezer 50 TR are autonomously controllable. We are compatible with the common RGB standards of leading motherboard manufacturers for the simplest possible use. The Freezer 50 TR can therefore be fully illuminated directly via the RGB mainboard connection or via an external controller and synchronized with the lighting of other hardware.

The massive, asymmetrical twin-tower CPU cooler offers more cooling surface and, together with its eight U-shaped Direct-Touch Heatpipes, ensures better heat distribution and faster heat dissipation.This enables the highest possible cooling performance and makes the Freezer 50 TR one of the most powerful air coolers for AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper.

The contact surface of the Freezer 50 TR heatpipes does not cover the full heatspreader, but – and more importantly – it is right there where the processor die is and covers even the largest versions completely.

RAM Clearance

RAM Clearance

Since the Freezer 50 TR is built for maximum performance, including a massive heatsink, it does not have limitless RAM Clearance. Recommended is a maximum memory module height of 37.5 mm. This stipulation is mainly due to the tip on the underside of the Freezer 50 TR, which means modules that exceed this height could still be compatible if they have V-shaped or centrally recessed heatsinks.

How to use

Mount the Freezer 50 TR onto a compatible Socket TR4 motherboard following the included mounting hardware and instructions. Apply an appropriate thermal paste to the CPU heatspreader, position the cooler so the base makes full contact with the CPU, and secure the cooler using the supplied screws or brackets. Connect the fan power and A-RGB cables to the motherboard headers or a compatible controller, then configure fan profiles and RGB lighting in the system BIOS or provided software.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, ensure sufficient case airflow by using intake and exhaust fans, set a fan curve to balance noise and cooling, and keep the heatsinks and fans free of dust with periodic cleaning. Verify motherboard compatibility with Socket TR4 and check clearance for memory modules and other components before installation.
