ASUS GS-BE7200 Router wireless 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Dual-Band (2,4 GHz / 5 GHz) Bianco, Nero

The ASUS ROG Strix GS-BE7200 is a tabletop dual-band Wi‑Fi 7 (802.11be) router designed for high-speed home and gaming networks. It delivers combined throughput up to 7200 Mbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, includes a WAN RJ‑45 port and four RJ‑45 LAN ports with 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet support, and features six antennas for extended wireless coverage. The router integrates modern security standards and tools for managing smart home devices and VPN connections.

Advantages

The GS-BE7200 supports Multi-Link Operation and advanced 4K‑QAM for reduced latency and stable connections during online gaming and streaming. Its boosted 5 GHz design with five-transmit five-receive antenna configuration improves long-range throughput compared with typical 4T4R designs, while two dedicated 2.5G Ethernet ports prioritise wired gaming traffic. Built-in network features include adaptive QoE gaming prioritisation, Smart Home Master for IoT and VPN subnetworks, and multi-level protection with AiProtection.

Suitable for

• Low-latency online gaming with priority for wired or wireless game traffic
• High-speed 4K/8K streaming and multi-device households
• Homes requiring secure Wi‑Fi with guest networks and VPN support
• Users who want expandable mesh networks with Wi‑Fi 7-capable ASUS routers (AiMesh)

When it may not be suitable

This router is focused on high throughput and gaming features; homes with only minimal internet speeds or very small apartments may not need its full capability. If you require USB ports for local storage or printer sharing, this model does not include a USB interface.

Key specifications

• Wi‑Fi standard: Wi‑Fi 7 (802.11be), backward compatible with Wi‑Fi 6/5/4
• Frequency bands: Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
• Maximum wireless throughput: up to 7200 Mbps (combined)
• Antennas: 6 (enhanced 5 GHz 5T5R design)
• Ethernet: one WAN RJ‑45, four LAN RJ‑45 ports with 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet support (total wired capacity 12.5G)
• MU‑MIMO and QoS support (Adaptive QoE)
• Security: WPA/WPA2/WPA3, AiProtection multi-level network security
• Form factor and colours: tabletop router, available in White and Black
• Weight: approx. 0.75 kg

How to use

Place the router centrally for best wireless coverage and connect your modem to the WAN RJ‑45 port. Connect wired devices to the 2.5G LAN ports for low-latency gaming or high-speed transfers. Use the web-based management interface or the ASUS mobile app to configure Wi‑Fi SSIDs, security (WPA3 recommended), Adaptive QoE gaming priorities, Smart Home Master settings for IoT devices, and VPN or guest networks. For mesh expansion, enable AiMesh on compatible ASUS routers and follow on-screen instructions.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your internet plan and wired devices can utilise 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet to benefit from the higher LAN speeds
• Verify that you do not require USB ports, as this model has no USB interface
• Check compatibility of existing client devices with Wi‑Fi 7 for maximum throughput; older devices will use lower Wi‑Fi standards
• Consider placement and antenna orientation to optimise the enhanced 5 GHz long-range performance

Recommendations

For best gaming performance, connect competitive gaming rigs or consoles to the 2.5G LAN ports and enable Adaptive QoE in the router settings; place the router in an open, central location and use the 5 GHz band for latency-sensitive wireless devices.
