ASUS ROG Strix Arion case per SSD nero M.2

ROG Strix Arion is a portable SSD enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors. It connects via USB‑C 3.2 Gen 2 and supports data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps. The aluminum alloy body includes thermal pads for improved heat dissipation, and the kit contains both USB‑C to C and USB‑C to A cables plus a detachable protective holder with an R‑hook. ROG Strix Arion is designed as a compact, high‑performance mobile storage solution compatible with laptops, desktops, smartphones and game consoles.

Advantages

The enclosure supports M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs with M key or B+M key up to 2 TB and multiple lengths, enabling use of compact and high‑capacity drives. Its aluminum housing and preinstalled thermal pads lower operating temperatures to help sustain high transfer rates and prolong SSD life. Tool‑free installation uses a pin and thumbscrew system for quick mounting without a screwdriver. Included USB‑C to C and USB‑C to A cables improve compatibility across devices, and the detachable protective holder with R‑hook offers extra physical protection. ASUS Aura Sync lighting provides customizable ambient lighting that integrates with compatible systems.

Key specifications

• Form factors: 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280
• Maximum SSD capacity: up to 2 TB
• Interface to host: USB‑C 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)
• Case material: aluminum alloy with thermal pads
• Installation: screwdriver‑free pin and thumbscrew system
• Included accessories: USB‑C to USB‑C cable, USB‑C to USB‑A cable, detachable protective holder with R‑hook

How to use

Open the enclosure, place a compatible M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (2230–2280) onto the mounting pin, secure it with the thumbscrew, then reassemble the case. Connect the enclosure to a host device using either the USB‑C to C or USB‑C to A cable. Ensure the host supports USB‑C 3.2 Gen 2 to reach maximum transfer speeds; otherwise throughput will follow the host port’s capabilities. Optionally connect Aura Sync compatible software to control the lighting.

Recommendations

Use a quality M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (M key/B+M key) within the supported lengths and up to 2 TB. For sustained high speeds, connect to a USB‑C 3.2 Gen 2 port, keep the aluminum case unobstructed for proper cooling, and install Aura Sync drivers only if you require lighting control. Handle the protective holder and R‑hook carefully to avoid scratching the finish.
