Bivibag SALEWA ptx bivibag ii-flame – bivacco da campeggio leggero e impermeabile

The Bivibag SALEWA ptx bivibag ii-flame is a lightweight waterproof camping bivy cover engineered to protect a sleeping bag from moisture, wind and dirt. Made from breathable PTX fabric, this low-profile bivy provides a compact weather barrier for solo backcountry hiking, alpine approaches and emergency situations, while helping to reduce condensation when used as an inner layer. Its slim design fits standard sleeping bag shapes and packs down small for inclusion in a minimalist overnight kit.

Advantages

The PSV PTX material offers a combination of water resistance and breathability to keep the interior dry while allowing moisture vapor to escape. The bivibag’s minimalist construction reduces weight and bulk without sacrificing reliable protection against wind-driven rain and ground spray. A close-fitting cut reduces dead air space around the sleeping bag to limit heat loss and condensation. The packable design and simple entry make it easy to deploy in emergency or rapid-setup situations.

Suitable for

• Ultralight backpacking and overnight approaches
• Alpine hut-to-hut travel and mountain bivouacs
• Emergency shelter for day hikes and technical routes
• As a condensation-reducing inner layer inside tents or arctic shelters

Key specifications

• Material: PTX waterproof breathable fabric
• Weight: ultralight, designed for minimal pack impact
• Shape: low-profile bivy cut suited for single sleeping bags
• Packability: compacts to a small volume for backpack storage

How to use

Slide your sleeping bag into the bivibag with the foot end first and align the bivy over the bag so the opening is accessible for entry and ventilation. Close or secure the opening according to the bivibag’s closure system to limit drafts while allowing some ventilation to reduce condensation. Use on a sleeping pad for thermal comfort and to protect the underside from damp ground. After use, dry thoroughly before packing to maintain the fabric’s breathability and water-resistance performance.

Recommendations

Use the Bivibag SALEWA ptx bivibag ii-flame as a lightweight weather barrier on overnight alpine approaches and as an emergency shelter on exposed terrain. Combine with a sleeping pad for insulation and always ventilate slightly to reduce internal condensation. When stored wet, allow the fabric to dry fully before packing to preserve the PTX membrane.
