AOC SFP28 Cavo ottico attivo CBO AOC-SFP28-CABLE-20M-BO 20 m SFP28 connettore 25 Gbit/s

This AOC SFP28 Active Optical Cable from BlueOptics (20 m) provides a direct, high-speed 25 Gbit/s connection between compatible SFP28 ports. The 20 m fiber assembly uses SFP28 male connectors on both ends and is intended for short-to-medium reach links in data centers, server rooms and enterprise network racks. The cable delivers low latency and reduced electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives, and its lightweight construction simplifies cable management in dense installations.

Advantages

The active optical cable supports 25 Gbit/s serial links with stable signal integrity over a 20 m distance, offering consistent throughput for storage, compute and switching equipment. As an optical link, it reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and crosstalk while producing less heat than equivalent copper assemblies. Its compact SFP28 connector format enables high-density port utilization and easier routing in rack environments.

Suitable for

• High-speed uplinks between switches and routers in data centers
• Server-to-switch connections in 25 G environments
• Interconnects for network appliances and storage systems
• Environments where low latency and EMI immunity are required

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP28 male connectors (both ends)
• Data rate: up to 25 Gbit/s
• Length: 20 meters
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Typical use: short-to-medium reach optical interconnect

How to use

Install the active optical cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on your switch, server or network appliance until the connector latches. Ensure the host devices support 25 Gbit/s AOC links and that port settings match the intended link speed. Avoid excessive bending or kinking of the fiber assembly during routing; secure the cable with standard cable management accessories to prevent strain on connectors. Power and link status are managed by the connected devices, so verify link LEDs or host interface status after installation.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, maintain bend radius recommendations from the manufacturer, avoid repeated insertion/removal cycles beyond normal maintenance, and use the cable in compatible SFP28 ports only. Store the cable coiled loosely and protect connector ferrules with dust caps when not in use.
