Cavo ottico attivo 1m CBO SFP28-AOC-1M per porte SFP28 (AOC, 1 m)

The Active Optical Cable 1m CBO SFP28-AOC-1M is a 1‑metre hot‑pluggable SFP28 AOC designed for devices with SFP28 ports. It provides a fibre link engineered for 25 Gb/s class interfaces, enabling low‑latency connections between switches, servers and storage in rack and data center environments. The cable uses optical transmission to deliver immunity to electromagnetic interference and to support high‑speed short‑reach interconnects where copper solutions are impractical.

Advantages

This Active Optical Cable offers the bandwidth and signal integrity required for 25 Gb/s class applications while keeping installation simple through a SFP28 hot‑plug form factor. Optical transmission reduces susceptibility to EMI and crosstalk, permits longer reach than equivalent copper breakouts at the same footprint, and lowers rack congestion by eliminating bulky twinax assemblies. The 1 m length provides a reliable short‑reach link suitable for dense rack topologies and direct device-to-device connections.

Suitable for

• Short‑reach interconnects between switches in rack environments
• Direct server-to-switch or server-to-storage links requiring 25 Gb/s class throughput
• Data center top-of-rack and leaf-spine cabling where EMI immunity is needed
• High-density deployments with hot‑plug SFP28 ports

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 hot-pluggable optical module
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Length: 1 metre
• Nominal data rate: designed for 25 Gb/s class interfaces
• Transmission medium: optical fibre for immunity to electromagnetic interference
• Typical application: short‑reach rack and data center interconnects

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on your network device until it clicks into place. Ensure both endpoints support the required 25 Gb/s class signalling and that port configurations match on linked devices. The cable is hot‑pluggable, so it can be installed or removed while equipment is powered, but follow your site procedures for handling live connections. Avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling on the cable; route the fibre gently within the rack and secure it to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, verify compatibility with the switch, server or storage vendor's supported transceivers list and configure ports for the intended speed and duplex settings. Maintain minimum bend radius and protect the optical connectors from contamination by using dust caps when the cable is not connected. Use the 1 m length for direct device-to-device connections within the same rack or neighbouring units to minimize latency and cabling complexity.
