Cavo ottico attivo AOC CBO SFP-AOC-10G-10M 10m, 10 Gbit/s, SFP+

The AOC CBO SFP-AOC-10G-10M is a 10-metre Active Optical Cable (AOC) designed for SFP+ ports, delivering up to 10 Gbps full-duplex throughput for short-range high-speed interconnects. This factory-terminated cable integrates optical transceivers and multimode fiber in a single assembly, removing the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords. It is intended for use in data centre and high-density rack environments where predictable low-latency 10 Gb connectivity between servers, switches and storage devices is required.

Advantages

The integrated AOC design reduces component count and simplifies installation by combining optical transceivers and fibre in a single plug-and-play cable. With a 10-metre length and SFP+ compatibility, the cable supports reliable 10 Gbps links while lowering power consumption and heat compared with some active copper alternatives. Its passive cable assembly and vendor-neutral SFP+ form factor ensure straightforward interoperability with equipment that accepts SFP+ AOCs.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 10 Gb connections between servers and top-of-rack switches
• High-density rack cabling in data centres and server rooms
• Interconnects between switches and storage arrays within the same facility
• Environments requiring low-latency, high-bandwidth links without separate transceivers

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ plug-in at both ends
• Maximum data rate: 10 Gbps (full duplex)
• Length: 10 metres
• Technology: Active Optical Cable with integrated optical transceivers
• Media: multimode optical fibre within cable assembly
• Compatibility: SFP+ host ports supporting AOC modules
• Latency: low-latency optical link suitable for data centre traffic

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ slots on the devices to be connected, ensuring proper alignment and seating until the latch engages. No separate transceivers or patch cords are required. After hardware installation, verify link status in the host devices and configure network settings as needed. For best results, avoid sharp bends in the cable and maintain the specified minimum bend radius while routing through racks and cable management.

Recommendations

Use this 10 m SFP+ AOC for short-range connections inside racks or between adjacent racks; avoid exposure to excessive tensile force, crushing, or tight bend radii. Confirm that connected equipment supports SFP+ AOCs and check link negotiation settings if auto-negotiation issues occur.
