Cavo ottico attivo AOC CBO SFP28-AOC-7M 7 m compatibile SFP28 Direct-Attach, lunghezza 7 metri

The AOC SFP28-AOC-7M is a 7-meter Active Optical Cable for SFP28 interfaces, designed to deliver reliable 25Gbps links between servers, switches and storage devices. This compatible SFP28 direct-attach solution uses optical signaling across a fixed 7 m length to support short-reach connections in data centers and high-density networking racks. The cable reduces electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives and simplifies cabling layout for top-of-rack and aggregation links.

Advantages

The AOC provides stable 25Gbps performance with low latency while eliminating the need for separate transceivers and fiber patching for short-distance connections. Its fixed-length optical design minimizes crosstalk and EMI, reduces rack clutter, and supports high-density port configurations. Being a directly attached SFP28 optical assembly, it requires minimal configuration and offers plug-and-play interoperability with compatible SFP28 ports.

Suitable for

• Data center server-to-switch uplinks
• Top-of-rack (ToR) connections in high-density racks
• Switch-to-switch aggregation links within the same rack or adjacent racks
• Storage area network short-reach links requiring 25Gbps
• Environments where reduced EMI and simplified cabling are needed

Key specifications

• Interface type: SFP28 compatible
• Data rate: 25 Gbps
• Length: 7 meters (fixed)
• Transmission medium: active optical cable
• Connector: SFP28 direct-attach ends
• Typical usage: short-reach links within racks or between adjacent racks
• Electrical characteristics: optical signaling to reduce EMI

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector end into the corresponding SFP28 port on the devices to be connected, ensuring the latch engages. No additional transceivers or fiber patch cords are required for direct connection. Verify link status via the host device interface and confirm 25Gbps operation through switch or server management tools. Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid tight bends; follow device vendor guidelines for port hot-plugging.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the 7 m cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress, maintain bend radius consistent with manufacturer guidance, and keep connector end faces clean before insertion. Use this cable for short-reach 25G connections inside racks or between adjacent racks where a fixed-length, low-EMI optical solution is preferred.
