Cavo ottico attivo SFP+ CBO 10G 2M per dispositivi compatibili Sophos

The BlueOptics SFP+ Active Optical Cable CBO 10G 2M for Sophos compatible devices is a factory-terminated optical direct-attach solution for connecting 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports over a 2 meter distance. This AOC integrates optical transceivers and a multimode fiber link into a single lightweight cable, providing low-latency, energy-efficient transmission without separate hot-pluggable transceivers. It is intended for short-reach connections such as switch-to-switch, switch-to-server and rack-to-rack links in data centers, server rooms and network closets where compatibility with Sophos-ready SFP+ ports is required.

Advantages

The Active Optical Cable delivers high-bandwidth 10 Gbps data transfer with minimal signal loss and reduced electromagnetic interference compared to copper cabling. Its integrated design simplifies installation by eliminating separate transceivers, reduces overall power consumption, and offers consistent performance over the specified 2 m reach. The cable’s lightweight construction and fixed connectors improve cable management in dense rack environments while supporting standard SFP+ port form factors.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 10 Gigabit links between SFP+ ports in racks and server cabinets
• Interconnects in data centers and server rooms requiring Sophos-compatible SFP+ connectivity
• Switch-to-switch and switch-to-server connections where low latency and low EMI are important
• Environments seeking reduced power consumption and simplified transceiver management

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps full duplex
• Connector type: SFP+ form-factor fixed AOC connectors
• Length: 2 meters
• Transmission medium: Active optical fiber (factory-terminated)
• Typical reach class: Short-reach multimode AOC
• Latency: low, designed for high-performance interconnects
• Power consumption: lower than equivalent copper plus transceiver solutions

How to use

Install the BlueOptics SFP+ AOC by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the network devices until the latch engages. Verify that connected devices detect the link and negotiate at 10 Gbps. No separate transceivers or patch panels are required for this direct-attach optical connection. Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid sharp bends; follow standard electrostatic discharge precautions when handling SFP+ ports and interfaces.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use the cable within its specified 2 m length and avoid kinking or tight radius bends. Ensure firmware and compatibility settings on Sophos devices allow use of third-party SFP+ AOCs, and check device port status after installation. For high-density deployments, label both ends to simplify maintenance and verify link integrity during scheduled network tests.
