Cavo ottico attivo SFP+ CBO SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10 Gbit/s 7 m

CBO SFP-AOC-10G-7M is an SFP+ active optical cable that provides a 10Gbps direct-attach connection over a 7-meter optical link. Designed for SFP+ ports, this 10G active optical cable delivers low-latency, energy-efficient short-range connectivity between switches, servers and storage systems. The cable integrates transceivers and an optical fiber link in a single assembly for simplified installation and predictable performance in data center and enterprise networking environments.

Advantages

The SFP+ Active Optical Cable offers a compact, plug-and-play solution for establishing 10Gbps links without separate transceiver modules and external fiber patch cords. It reduces power consumption compared with some copper alternatives and provides electrical isolation and lower electromagnetic interference thanks to the optical link. The 7-meter length supports flexible rack-to-rack or row-to-row connections while maintaining low latency and stable throughput suitable for high-performance networking tasks.

Suitable for

• Short-range connections between SFP+ ports on switches and routers
• Server-to-switch links in data centers and server rooms
• Storage area networks and direct-attached storage connections
• High-throughput uplinks and interconnects within racks or adjacent rows

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Form factor: SFP+ direct-attach active optical cable
• Length: 7 meters
• Connector type: SFP+ plugs on both ends
• Link type: Optical (active fiber) for reduced EMI
• Latency: low, suitable for high-performance networking
• Power consumption: energy-efficient compared with some comparable copper solutions

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on your network devices until the latch engages. No separate transceiver or patch cable is required. Ensure devices are powered and that firmware or driver support for SFP+ AOC assemblies is enabled on your switches, servers or storage systems. Verify link status through device management interfaces and test throughput as needed to confirm a stable 10Gbps connection.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short to medium rack and row interconnects in controlled environments. Avoid tight bends and excessive pulling forces on the cable; maintain minimum bend radius as recommended by the manufacturer. Ensure compatibility with device port vendor compatibility lists and update firmware if link negotiation issues occur.
