BlueOptics SFP-25G-D-AOC-2M-BO cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand 2 m SFP28 connettore maschio

The BlueOptics SFP-25G-D-AOC-2M-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable is a 2-meter active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 male connectors on both ends. Designed for 25G data rates and compliant with MSA mechanical and electrical specifications, this pre-assembled multi-mode fibre AOC integrates transmitter and receiver modules in the plug housings to provide a direct, low-latency link between SFP28 ports in switches, routers and storage systems. The cable supports simultaneous send and receive optical transmission and is appropriate for short-reach, high-bandwidth interconnects within racks and between adjacent racks in data centres and high-performance computing environments.

Advantages

This BlueOptics AOC delivers 25G performance over a 2 m multi-mode fibre link while avoiding the need for separate transceivers and patch cords. Built to MSA standards, it includes integrated optical transmitters and receivers and is tested for compatibility with major networking platforms that accept SFP28 25GBASE-SR4 AOCs. The pre-assembled design reduces insertion loss and eliminates connector mating/cleaning routine associated with traditional patching. The module also supports digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) for remote measurement of supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit output power, receive input power and temperature.

Suitable for

• High-density server and switch interconnects in data centres
• Direct connections between SFP28 ports on switches, routers and storage arrays
• High-performance computing clusters requiring low-latency links
• Short-reach 25G Ethernet or Fibre Channel over Ethernet links within racks

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 male to SFP28 male
• Link type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) over multi-mode fibre
• Nominal length: 2 meters
• Supported data rate: up to 25 Gbit/s
• Optical application: 25GBASE-SR4 (short-reach multimode)
• Monitoring: Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) support
• Designed for rack and rack-to-rack short-reach interconnects

How to use

Install the BlueOptics SFP-25G-D-AOC-2M-BO by inserting each SFP28 male connector into the SFP28 port of the devices to be linked. Ensure devices are powered down or follow hot-swap procedures recommended by the hardware vendor. After insertion, verify link status on both devices and check DDM/DOM values through the host interface if monitoring is required. Use the cable without additional patch cords or transceivers; no fiber polishing or connector cleaning is necessary for this pre-assembled AOC.

Recommendations

Confirm that the target hardware supports SFP28 25GBASE-SR4 AOCs and, if required, DDM/DOM reporting. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain; observe the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. For reliable operation, maintain operating temperatures and supply voltages within the host device specifications and periodically verify diagnostic readings to detect any anomalies in optical power or temperature.
