Case RAID esterno senza dischi a 5 vani TERRAMASTER D5-310-USB-3.1

TERRAMASTER D5-310 is a 5-bay diskless external RAID enclosure with USB 3.1 connectivity. It accepts up to five 3.5" or 2.5" SATA drives (drives not included) and provides hardware RAID support to consolidate storage and protect data. The enclosure is intended for desktop backup, media libraries and small-office storage expansion, offering hot-swap drive access and straightforward connection to a single host via USB 3.1.

Advantages

The enclosure supports multiple hardware RAID modes to balance performance and redundancy, and its USB 3.1 interface delivers high-speed transfer rates for large file movement. Tool-free hot-swap bays simplify drive replacement and expansion without powering down, while a compact desktop design reduces footprint. Built-in cooling and a robust metal chassis help maintain drive health under continuous operation.

Suitable for

• Desktop backup and local data archiving
• Media libraries for video and photo storage
• Small office or home office storage expansion
• Temporary consolidation of multiple drives for migration or cloning

Key specifications

• Bays: 5 drive bays compatible with 3.5" and 2.5" SATA drives
• Interface: USB 3.1 host connection for high-speed data transfer
• RAID: Hardware RAID support with multiple RAID levels for performance and redundancy
• Drive access: Hot-swap capability for easy drive replacement
• Cooling: Integrated cooling fan and ventilated metal chassis
• Power: External power supply designed for continuous desktop operation

How to use

Install compatible SATA drives into the tool-free bays, making sure each drive is seated and the tray is secured. Connect the enclosure to a host computer using a USB 3.1 cable and apply power from the external adapter. Configure the desired RAID mode following the enclosure's hardware RAID setup procedure, then initialize and format the array on the host operating system if required. For hot-swapping, follow the host OS safe removal procedure or the hardware indicators before removing a drive to avoid data corruption.

Recommendations

Use drives of the same capacity and similar performance characteristics to maximize usable capacity and RAID reliability. Maintain regular backups of critical data even when using redundant RAID levels. Place the enclosure in a well-ventilated area and periodically check fan operation and drive temperatures to prolong drive lifespan.
