Cavo AOC InfiniBand/fibra ottica BlueOptics QSFP56–QSFP56 15 m (aqua)

BlueOptics InfiniBand/fibre optic AOC cable QSFP56–QSFP56 15 m (Aqua) is an active optical cable (AOC) designed for short-range high-speed interconnects in data centres and between adjacent racks. The cable uses QSFP56 connectors on both ends and supports high-bandwidth optical links suitable for 100 Gbit/s and higher network interfaces. The 15 m aqua-jacketed fibre assembly combines optical transmission with a lightweight design to simplify routing and identification in dense network deployments.

Advantages

The AOC construction eliminates susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and provides stable, low-latency optical transmission. QSFP56 to QSFP56 connectivity follows MSA-defined mechanical and electrical interfaces to ensure interoperability across compatible switches, routers and storage hardware. The aqua-coloured jacket improves visual identification of fibre lanes, while the 0.23 kg weight and flexible lead reduce strain on ports and make cable management easier in rack environments.

How to use

Install the cable by aligning each QSFP56 connector with the corresponding QSFP56 port and inserting until the latch secures. Use cable routing channels or ties to prevent sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer minimum bend radius for AOC assemblies. The cable is plug-and-play for systems supporting QSFP56 AOC modules; ensure host hardware firmware or software accepts third-party AOC modules if required by the platform. For monitoring features such as digital diagnostics, confirm that the connected equipment supports DDM/DOM readout to access real-time parameters like optical power and temperature.

Recommendations

Store and handle the AOC in a clean, dry environment. Avoid excessive pulling force on the cable and do not kink the fibre assembly. When installing in dense racks, label both ends and follow rack cable management best practices. Verify compatibility with your hardware vendor’s requirements for third-party AOC modules and enable digital diagnostics on supported systems to simplify maintenance and fault analysis.
