Cavo ottico attivo DisplayPort 1.4 DELOCK 85879 — 8K, 5 m

Active Optical Cable DisplayPort 1.4 DELOCK 85879 — 8K, 5 m is a 5-metre fibre-optic DisplayPort 1.4 cable engineered to transmit high-bandwidth video and audio signals over longer distances with reduced signal loss. The cable implements an active optical link to support up to 8K resolution and high refresh rates where copper cables would be limited, ensuring stable transmission between a DisplayPort source and a compatible display or AV device.

Advantages

The optical construction of this DisplayPort 1.4 cable provides consistent signal integrity over the 5 m length, lowering electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with copper alternatives. Support for DisplayPort 1.4 features enables higher resolutions and colour depth while preserving bandwidth for HDR and high frame-rate content. The slim, flexible design simplifies routing and installation in constrained spaces and professional AV setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs, workstations or graphics cards to 4K/8K monitors and professional displays
• Linking sources to projectors and AV receivers in conference rooms and auditoria
• Long-distance signal runs in media production, digital signage and control rooms
• Environments where electromagnetic interference or ground loops must be minimised

Key specifications

• Interface: DisplayPort 1.4 compatible connectors on both ends
• Maximum supported resolution: up to 8K (7680×4320) with DisplayPort 1.4 features
• Cable length: 5 metres
• Transmission medium: active optical fibre for long-distance high-bandwidth transport
• Signal characteristics: supports high refresh rates, HDR metadata and high colour depth where source and display allow
• Immunity: reduced susceptibility to electromagnetic interference compared to copper cables

How to use

Connect one end of the active DisplayPort cable to the DisplayPort output of your computer, graphics card or source device and the other end to the DisplayPort input on the monitor, projector or AV equipment. Ensure both devices support DisplayPort 1.4 features for full bandwidth and resolution. No additional power or drivers are typically required; verify that connectors are fully seated and that display settings on the source device are configured to the desired resolution and refresh rate.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this cable with hardware that explicitly supports DisplayPort 1.4 and verify firmware or driver updates for your GPU and display. Avoid sharp bends in the cable near the connectors and maintain a gentle bend radius for the optical fibre. When connecting to very high-resolution or high-refresh-rate displays, confirm cable length and display settings to ensure the chosen resolution and refresh rate are supported by both source and display.
