Cavo prolunga seriale Renkforce 1406218 connettore maschio DB-9 su connettore femmina, 3 m, stampato

Renkforce Serial Extension Cable 1406218 is a 3‑meter molded DB‑9 extension designed to lengthen RS‑232 serial connections between devices. The cable features a DB‑9 male connector on one end and a DB‑9 female connector on the other, with a molded housing that helps protect solder joints and provides strain relief for more reliable long‑term use. It is intended for extending communication links where standard serial ports are required, preserving signal integrity across the added distance.

Advantages

The molded construction reduces mechanical stress at the connector interface and minimizes the risk of intermittent contacts. A 3 m length offers additional reach for flexible device placement without the need to relocate equipment. Standard DB‑9 male‑to‑female wiring ensures compatibility with many RS‑232 devices and supports straightforward plug‑and‑play extension of existing serial cables and ports.

Suitable for

• Extending RS‑232 connections between computers and external modems
• Connecting industrial controllers, sensors or measurement instruments to host devices
• Linking legacy serial ports on PCs to printers, barcode scanners or serial consoles
• Temporary or permanent extension of serial links in laboratory and test setups

Key specifications

• Cable type: DB‑9 serial extension (male to female)
• Length: 3 meters
• Connector gender: 9‑pin male connector to 9‑pin female connector
• Construction: molded connector housings with strain relief
• Signal standard: RS‑232 serial communication

How to use

Ensure both devices are powered down or that hot‑plugging is supported by the equipment. Align the DB‑9 male connector with the female port on the device or cable and tighten the securing screws by hand or with a small screwdriver until snug; avoid overtightening. Connect the female end to the device or existing cable that provides the serial interface. After connections are made, power up devices and configure serial port settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits) as required by the equipment and software.

Recommendations

Place the cable away from high‑power or high‑frequency sources to minimize interference; use shielded routing through cable trays if available. Avoid sharp bends near the molded connector and do not excessively twist or stretch the cable to prolong service life. For critical installations, verify signal integrity after installation and confirm serial settings match on both ends.
