Cavo S-Video VALUE 5 m

The VALUE S-Video Cable 5 m is a 5-metre video connection cable fitted with 4-pin S-Video connectors on both ends. It is designed to transmit analog video signals between compatible devices such as DVD players, set-top boxes, older game consoles and projectors. The cable provides a stable connection intended to preserve luminance and chrominance separation for improved picture clarity compared with composite video wiring.

Advantages

The cable offers a standard-length 5 m reach suitable for most home and small office setups, with molded 4-pin S-Video connectors for secure mating and reduced signal loss at the connection points. Its construction uses shielded conductors to limit interference and maintain image detail over the run. The flexible jacket and strain-relief at each connector improve durability during repeated plugging and routing.

Suitable for

• Connecting DVD players to projectors or TVs with S-Video input
• Linking legacy video equipment such as older camcorders and game consoles
• Home theatre setups where separate luminance and chrominance lines are required
• Temporary installations for presentations or events using S-Video-capable displays

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 metres
• Connector type: 4-pin S-Video on both ends
• Signal type: Analog composite S-Video (separate Y/C luminance and chrominance)
• Conductor shielding: Shielded design to reduce electromagnetic interference
• Cable jacket: Flexible outer sheath with strain-relief at connectors

How to use

Locate the S-Video output on the source device and the S-Video input on the display device. Align the 4-pin connector and insert it gently until it seats; avoid forcing the connector to prevent pin damage. If your devices also require separate audio connections, use the appropriate audio cables in parallel. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it away from power cables to minimize interference. Test the video signal after connection and adjust the source and display settings as needed for optimal picture quality.

Recommendations

Use this S-Video cable for devices that explicitly support a 4-pin S-Video connection. For highest image quality, keep cable runs as short as practical and avoid running the cable parallel to power cords. If your display or source supports only digital connections, use a suitable converter rather than forcing incompatible ports.
