Honor, courage and service to the Republic of PolandThe beginning of World War II and the September 1939 campaign were some of the most dramatic moments in Polish history. Despite the technical and numerical superiority of the enemy, the Polish Army offered fierce resistance on many fronts. Alongside the infantry, cavalry played a key role, being mobile, well-trained and fighting according to modern doctrine, often dismounting and engaging in infantry combat. Polish Uhlans were not a symbol of outdated warfare, but soldiers capable of rapid maneuvers, reconnaissance and infantry support. This set captures the spirit of those days, showing different forms of service and armament of the Uhlans in September 1939.
