Copertura cieca per slot modulare Supermicro MCP-220-11902-0B HS119

Modular Bay Dummy Cover Supermicro MCP-220-11902-0B HS119 is a blanking plate designed for Supermicro server chassis modular bays. The cover restores a finished appearance to unused drive or module slots, blocks unwanted airflow through open bays and contributes to dust protection and predictable thermal behavior in rack-mounted and tower server environments. It is intended as a direct-fit replacement to keep chassis airflow patterns consistent after hardware changes or during maintenance.

Advantages

The blanking plate is made to match the dimensions and mounting points of compatible Supermicro modular bays, ensuring a secure fit and a consistent external appearance. By closing unused openings it helps maintain directed airflow across active components, which supports stable cooling and can assist in preventing hot spots. The cover also reduces dust ingress into the chassis and provides a low-cost way to restore a professional look after drives or modules are removed.

Suitable for

• Server chassis with compatible Supermicro modular bays where drives or modules are removed
• Data center and rack server installations requiring controlled airflow and dust reduction
• Maintenance, hardware upgrades, or temporary configurations where unused bays should be closed

When it may not be suitable

The dummy cover does not provide active sealing against moisture or contaminants beyond normal dust protection and is not a replacement for weatherproof or ingress-rated components. It is not a functional or electrically active part and cannot be used to replace drive modules, carrier trays, or any component that requires data or power connections.

Key specifications

• Form factor: modular bay blanking plate compatible with Supermicro chassis modular bays
• Function: closes unused drive or module bays to control airflow and reduce dust
• Material: rigid panel designed for structural fit and chassis alignment
• Finish: chassis-matching exterior for consistent appearance

How to use

Power down the server or follow appropriate hot-swap procedures if the chassis supports live maintenance. Remove any retaining screws or clips from the empty bay, align the dummy cover with the bay opening and secure it using the original mounting points, screws, or clips. Verify that the cover sits flush with the bezel and does not interfere with adjacent drives or bezel latch mechanisms. Restore power or resume normal operation after installation.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm physical compatibility with your Supermicro chassis modular bay size and mounting pattern
• Check whether your server requires special bezel or carrier components that alter mounting points
• Ensure the blanking plate finish and dimensions meet your rack or chassis appearance and airflow requirements

Recommendations

Install blanking plates in any unused bays to preserve chassis airflow design and reduce dust accumulation. Keep spare covers available for maintenance or reconfiguration tasks so that airflow control and chassis appearance can be quickly restored.
