Delock custodia esterna combo USB Type-C per SSD M.2 NVMe PCIe o SATA - custodia - M.2 - scheda M.2 NVMe / SATA 10Gb/s - USB 3,2 (Gen 2) (4263

The DeLOCK 42638 SSD enclosure is a compact external housing for a single M.2 storage drive with a PCI Express interface. Designed in black and grey metal, the enclosure provides a durable shell and fast data access via a USB Type-C connection. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2) connection speeds up to 10 Gbit/s, making it suitable for high-bandwidth tasks such as large file transfers, backups and running portable applications from an external drive.

Advantages

The metal construction offers improved heat dissipation and mechanical protection for the M.2 drive while keeping the overall enclosure lightweight and portable. With support for PCI Express M.2 drives and a USB Type-C connector, the device enables plug-and-play connectivity with modern laptops and desktops. The enclosure’s USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface allows sustained high transfer rates up to 10 Gbit/s, reducing wait time for data-intensive operations.

Suitable for

• Expanding external storage for laptops and desktops
• Fast file transfers and backups of large data sets
• Running portable applications or virtual machines from an external drive
• Transferring media files for photo and video editing
• Testing or cloning M.2 PCIe SSDs

How to use

Open the enclosure according to the manufacturer’s instructions, insert a compatible M.2 PCIe SSD into the M.2 slot and secure it with the included screw or mounting mechanism. Close the enclosure and connect it to your computer using a USB Type-C cable that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2. The drive should be detected by the operating system as an external storage device; format or partition the drive as required. For safe removal, eject the drive from your OS before disconnecting the cable.

Recommendations

Use a high-quality USB Type-C cable rated for USB 3.2 Gen 2 to achieve the advertised transfer speeds. Ensure the M.2 drive is compatible with PCIe/NVMe protocol; SATA-based M.2 drives may not be supported. Allow airflow around the metal enclosure during sustained heavy use to aid heat dissipation and maintain performance.
