On compatible systems such as Mac OS X 10.14/10.15, the connected devices should be recognised automatically. For optimal video performance, ensure the HDMI cable and monitor support the desired resolution and refresh rate.

Recommendations

Use high-quality cables for HDMI and USB connections to maintain signal integrity. Avoid forcing cards into the slots; insert them gently until they click into place. When connecting high-power external drives, ensure the laptop provides sufficient power or use externally powered devices to prevent disconnection. Store the dock in a padded compartment to protect it from impacts while transporting.
