Fiberlogy PLA Impact – Impact-Resistant PLA Filament for 3D Printers (1.75 mm)

Fiberlogy PLA Impact is an advanced 3D printing filament that combines the ease of printing PLA with ABS-comparable mechanical strength. It offers increased impact strength (Izod 160 J/m), crack resistance, and greater heat resistance than standard PLA. Suitable for functional prototypes, replacement parts, and tools exposed to mechanical loads – and no enclosed chamber is required for printing.

PLA Impact combines the ease and safety of printing typical of PLA with mechanical strength that the manufacturer states is comparable to ABS filaments. Thanks to its increased impact strength and better temperature resistance, prints are less prone to cracking or breaking, making the material suited to more demanding conditions.

The filament is intended for functional prototypes, replacement parts, and tools exposed to mechanical and thermal stress, while maintaining a high level of detail – suitable for both technical and aesthetic components. It can be used by experienced 3D printer owners as well as those just starting to work with higher-strength materials.

It is based on NatureWorks Ingeo™ PLA, produced from renewable plant-based raw materials such as corn starch. This raw material is distinguished by a homogeneous composition, low impurity levels, a stable melting temperature, a low risk of nozzle clogging, and minimal warping.

Suitable For

Functional prototypes, replacement parts, tools, brackets, housings, fasteners, and other parts that need better impact resistance than regular PLA, without moving to more demanding materials such as ABS that require an enclosed chamber.

Good to Know

Although the manufacturer states greater heat resistance than standard PLA, the stated glass transition temperature (55–60 °C) is similar to regular PLA, and no heat deflection temperature (HDT) value is given. For parts exposed to high temperatures, test under real conditions first.

The printing temperature (220–245 °C) is higher than for standard PLA – check that your printer's hotend and settings are suitable.

Like other PLA-based filaments, the material absorbs moisture – store it in a sealed package and, if needed, dry it at 50 °C for 4 hours.

Mechanical properties are based on the manufacturer's data (TDS); actual results depend on the printer, settings, part orientation, and infill.
