Connect two legacy computers or serial devices directly without a modem using the GoodConnections Null Modem Cable. Ideal for technicians and IT professionals who need to transfer data between DTE devices with DB25 ports, such as older PCs, industrial equipment, or point-of-sale terminals. The 1.8-meter length provides flexibility in tight workspaces while maintaining signal integrity.

Key specifications

• Null modem wiring configuration (cross-wired) for direct DTE-to-DTE communication
• Connectors: DB25 female to DB25 female with molded thumbscrews for secure attachment
• Cable length: 1.8 meters
• Supports RS-232 serial standard with data rates up to 115.2 kbps
• Foil and braid shielding reduces electromagnetic interference
• Durable PVC jacket and nickel-plated connectors

Why choose it

This cable eliminates the need for a modem or null modem adapter, saving time and reducing connection points. The cross-wired configuration ensures proper signal handshaking between devices, while the shielding and quality materials provide reliable data transmission even in electrically noisy environments.

Ideal use cases

• Direct file transfer between two legacy PCs with DB25 serial ports
• Connecting a PC to a serial printer or plotter that requires null modem wiring
• Configuring network equipment or industrial machinery via console port (with appropriate gender changer if needed)
• Laboratory or test bench setups where serial communication between instruments is required

Good to know

The cable is grey in color and features molded connectors with thumbscrews for a secure, vibration-resistant connection. It is compatible with any device that has a DB25 female serial port and requires a null modem connection. For devices with DB9 ports, an adapter may be necessary.
