HPE 146GB 15K 6G SAS disco fisso Enterprise 2,5 pollici (EH0146FCBVB)

The HPE EH0146FCBVB stands out in the enterprise storage landscape by pairing a 15,000 RPM spindle speed with a 6G SAS interface in a compact 2.5-inch small form factor. This combination delivers the low latency and high I/O performance that transaction-heavy applications demand, while its reduced physical footprint allows for greater drive density in modern server and storage enclosures. Unlike slower 7.2K or 10K drives, this model is engineered for workloads where every millisecond counts, such as database indexing, virtualization, and high-frequency online transaction processing.

Highlights

• 146 GB formatted capacity, optimized for OS boot, logging, and hot data tiers.
• 15,000 RPM rotational speed for exceptional random access performance.
• 6G SAS interface with dual-port capability for redundant paths and higher throughput.
• 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) enables high-density storage configurations.
• Enterprise-class reliability with a 2 million hour MTBF and advanced error recovery.
• Hot-plug support for seamless serviceability in mission-critical environments.

In daily use

Deploying the EH0146FCBVB in a RAID array or as a boot drive transforms system responsiveness. Database administrators will notice faster query execution on heavily indexed tables, while virtualization hosts benefit from reduced I/O wait times when multiple VMs contend for storage. The drive's 15K speed is particularly effective for write-intensive logging and caching, where lower RPM drives often become bottlenecks. Its 2.5-inch form factor also simplifies cooling and power budgeting in dense server racks, allowing IT managers to pack more performance into the same physical space.
