Switch managed L3 Gigabit Ethernet Hewlett Packard Enterprise Aruba 2920 48G

Aruba 2920 48G Switch, Refurbished. The Aruba 2920 Switch Series delivers secure, scalable Layer 3 access switching for enterprise edge, SMB and branch office networks. These refurbished 48‑port models support modular 10GbE uplinks, PoE/PoE+ power, RIP and OSPF access routing, ACLs, sFlow, IPv6 and OpenFlow for Software‑defined Networking. The platform integrates with Aruba ClearPass, AirWave and cloud‑based Aruba Central for centralized management and zero‑touch provisioning.

Advantages

The Aruba 2920 offers cost‑effective, modular stacking for growth, upgradeable power supplies for higher PoE budgets and a ProVision ASIC for low latency and increased buffering. It provides unified wired/wireless policy enforcement, automated configuration with Aruba access points, and robust security features including 802.1X, RADIUS/TACACS+ and port filtering. Refurbished units retain core enterprise features while reducing acquisition cost.

How to use

Install the Aruba 2920 in a standard 19" rack and connect uplink modules (10GbE) as required. Configure network access and routing through the CLI or via Aruba Central/AirWave/ClearPass for centralized policy and zero‑touch provisioning. Allocate PoE/PoE+ power per port using automatic, IEEE 802.3at dynamic, LLDP‑MED or manual settings and deploy VLANs, ACLs and QoS profiles according to network design. For increased PoE capacity, attach an external power supply or redundant power supply to reach up to 1440 W.

Recommendations

Use Aruba ClearPass and AirWave or Aruba Central together for unified wired and wireless policy enforcement and simplified device onboarding. When powering multiple PoE devices, verify total PoE budget and, if needed, add an external or redundant power supply to avoid power limitations.
