IBM V5020 Node Canister batteria - batteria ( 01AC366 )

When a storage node loses mains power, the difference between a clean shutdown and data corruption often comes down to one small component: the canister battery. The IBM 01AC366 is engineered specifically for the Storwize V5020, delivering 3.7 V of reliable backup energy with a 2600 mAh capacity. Unlike generic cells, this FRU is tuned to the exact power curve and thermal profile of the V5000 Gen2 architecture, so the node canister can flush its cache and park its heads safely even during an abrupt outage. It is a genuine IBM part, not a third‑party substitute, and that matters when every millisecond of hold‑up time counts.

Highlights

• Lithium‑ion chemistry with 9.62 Wh of stored energy
• Rated 3.7 V, 2600 mAh for consistent hold‑up performance
• Rechargeable design maintains readiness across power cycles
• Internal installation in the V5020 node canister
• Exact FRU replacement for IBM part number 01AC366
• Supports temporary backup power during cache flush and graceful shutdown

In daily use

Inside a Storwize V5020, the node canister battery sits quietly until the moment it is needed. If utility power fails, the battery instantly supplies the canister’s critical circuits, giving the system enough time to write cached data to disk and complete an orderly shutdown. Because the 01AC366 is a genuine IBM FRU, its voltage curve, connector, and mounting are identical to the original part—no adapters, no firmware surprises. The cell is rechargeable, so after power is restored the canister recharges it automatically, keeping the system ready for the next event. For storage administrators, this battery is a small but essential part of the data‑protection chain.

Final note

For data centres running IBM Storwize V5020 arrays, keeping a spare 01AC366 battery on the shelf is a smart move. It is a low‑cost insurance policy against unexpected power events and a straightforward way to restore full redundancy after a battery replacement cycle.
