Scheda adattatore PCIe icybox MB312M4P-B — 2× M.2 NVMe su PCIe 4.0 x8 (biforcazione)

The icybox MB312M4P-B is a PCIe adapter card that accepts two M.2 NVMe SSDs and presents them through a PCIe 4.0 x8 interface using CPU or chipset bifurcation. Designed for systems with available x8 or x16 PCIe slots and support for PCIe bifurcation, this adapter allows installation of dual M.2 NVMe drives to expand storage capacity or create RAID arrays. The card is intended for use in workstations, servers and high-performance desktops where low-latency, high-throughput NVMe storage is required.

Advantages

The adapter supports PCIe 4.0 x8 bandwidth, enabling high transfer speeds when paired with compatible NVMe SSDs and a motherboard that supports bifurcation. By accommodating two M.2 NVMe drives on a single card, it simplifies storage expansion without occupying multiple M.2 slots on the motherboard. The design is compatible with common M.2 form factors and makes it possible to implement software or hardware RAID configurations depending on system capabilities.

Suitable for

• Adding two M.2 NVMe drives to a workstation or desktop with a free PCIe x8/x16 slot
• Building high-speed storage arrays or RAID configurations
• Upgrading server storage density where motherboard supports PCIe bifurcation
• Systems requiring low-latency, high-throughput NVMe storage for data-intensive tasks

Key specifications

• Interface to host: PCIe 4.0 x8 (requires motherboard/CPU support for bifurcation)
• M.2 slots: 2 × M.2 NVMe (PCIe x4 per slot when bifurcated)
• Supported drives: M-key NVMe SSDs (standard M.2 lengths; verify compatibility with your chassis and cooling)
• Form factor: PCIe full-height card designed for x8/x16 slots
• Intended use: dual NVMe installation, RAID-capable setups depending on system

How to use

Install compatible M.2 NVMe SSDs into the two M.2 slots on the card, securing them with the supplied standoffs or screws. Insert the adapter into an available PCIe x8 or x16 slot on a motherboard that supports PCIe bifurcation and configure the BIOS/UEFI to enable bifurcation as required (e.g., x8/x8 or x4/x4/x4/x4 depending on platform). After booting, verify that both NVMe drives are detected by the operating system and configure them for use as separate drives or combine them into a RAID array using software or hardware RAID utilities provided by your platform.

Recommendations

Ensure your motherboard and CPU explicitly support PCIe bifurcation and that BIOS/UEFI settings are adjusted before installation. Use proper cooling for NVMe SSDs in high-load scenarios and check M.2 length and clearance in your case to avoid physical interference. Consult motherboard documentation for recommended bifurcation modes and RAID setup procedures.
