ICY BOX - IB-565SSK - backplane, 5x SATA 3,5 HDD per 3x vano 5,25, hot swap, senza vassoi - nero

The ICY BOX IB-565SSK 3x 5.25" storage drive tray is a compact mounting solution for organizing up to three 5.25" device positions and accommodating 2.5" HDDs. Constructed from aluminium with a black finish, the unit measures 127 mm width, 220 mm depth and 148 mm height and weighs 1.798 kg. The package includes SATA cables and two lock keys for physical security. Designed to integrate into desktop or rack-mounted systems, the tray provides a durable enclosure for drive storage and connection.

Advantages

The aluminium housing provides structural strength while aiding passive heat dissipation. The included lock keys offer basic physical protection for installed drives. A compact footprint and standard 5.25" mounting form factor make the tray compatible with many enclosures and chassis. Supplied SATA cables simplify installation and reduce the need for additional accessories.

Suitable for

• Organising internal 2.5" HDDs within systems that accept 5.25" drive bays
• Workstations and small servers requiring a compact multi-drive mounting solution
• Environments where a metal housing and a lockable tray are preferred for durability and basic security

How to use

Mount the IB-565SSK into an available 5.25" bay in your PC or compatible chassis and secure it with the standard mounting screws. Install 2.5" HDDs into the tray positions according to the mechanical guides, connect each drive to the supplied SATA cables and attach the other ends to available SATA ports on the motherboard or host controller. Use the supplied lock keys to secure the front of the tray when drives are installed. Ensure proper airflow inside the system to support passive heat dissipation from the metal housing.

Recommendations

Position the tray in a well-ventilated area of the chassis and verify cable routing to avoid blocking fans or airflow paths. For sensitive data storage, combine the physical lock with software-level drive encryption or regular backups. Periodically check that the SATA connections and locking mechanism remain secure.
