JARLTECH 8005-1 RS-232 apri cassetto se il cassetto non è collegato a una stampante ma

Many modern POS setups skip the traditional receipt printer, but cash drawers still need a reliable trigger. The JARLTECH 8005-1 RS-232 Cash Drawer Opener solves exactly that: it connects directly to a serial port and fires the drawer on command, no printer required. This compact black unit interprets standard RS-232 signals and drives 12V or 24V cash drawers through its RJ11/RJ12 port, making it a practical bridge between your software and your cash handling hardware.

Who is it for

This opener is built for retailers, restaurants, and service counters using POS terminals, panel PCs, or any host with a DB9 serial port. If your cash drawer is orphaned because you migrated to a printer-less system, or you need a dedicated trigger for a custom kiosk, the 8005-1 gives you back control without replacing the drawer.

Main features

• Direct RS-232 serial input (DB9 male) with driverless operation on any OS
• Outputs to standard cash drawer port (RJ11/RJ12 6P6C)
• Supports both 12V and 24V DC cash drawer solenoids
• External 5V DC power input for reliable triggering (adapter sold separately)
• Configurable baud rate (default 9600, 8N1) for flexible integration

Tips

Check your cash drawer's voltage rating before ordering—most are 12V or 24V, and this unit handles both. You'll need a standard 5V DC power adapter (center-positive, 2.1mm barrel) to supply the opener; it does not draw power from the serial port. For software integration, send the appropriate serial command (often a simple byte sequence) from your POS application; no proprietary drivers are required.
