Lucchetto a U ABUS GRANIT XPlus 540 nero 230 mm

The ABUS GRANIT XPlus 540 U-lock in black is a heavy-duty bicycle lock designed to provide high security for everyday use. The unit features a hardened steel shackle with a 17 mm diameter and compact dimensions of 230 mm length by 108 mm width. With a weight of approximately 1.65 kg and a single key supplied, this U-lock is engineered to resist cutting and leverage attacks while remaining practical for regular locking of bicycles and similar personal transport devices.

Advantages

The lock combines a thick, hardened steel shackle with a reinforced locking mechanism to increase resistance against common theft methods. Its compact form factor and black corrosion-resistant finish make it suitable for frequent outdoor use and straightforward transport on a bike or in a bag. The single-key operation provides simple handling and reliable engagement of the locking cylinder.

Suitable for

• Securing city and commuter bicycles
• Locking e-bikes at short to medium stops
• Protecting scooters and foldable bikes
• Use in urban environments with higher theft risk

Key specifications

• Shackle thickness: 17 mm (hardened steel)
• External dimensions: 230 mm (length) x 108 mm (width)
• Weight: approx. 1.65 kg
• Finish: black, corrosion-resistant coating
• Locking system: reinforced cylinder with single-key operation

How to use

Position the U-lock so the shackle passes through the bicycle frame and a fixed object such as a bike rack or lamppost, minimizing space inside the shackle to reduce leverage opportunities. Insert the shackle into the lock body until the mechanism engages, then remove the key. When unlocking, reinsert the key and turn to release the shackle. Regularly check that the cylinder and shackle are free of dirt and that the key turns smoothly to maintain reliable operation.

Recommendations

For improved security, use the U-lock in combination with a secondary cable or chain to secure wheels or accessories. Store the lock indoors when not in use to avoid prolonged exposure to severe weather. Lubricate the cylinder occasionally with a graphite or silicone-based lubricant recommended for locks to preserve smooth key operation.
