Mazzuolo wiha manico in legno di hickory martello a facce morbide 30 mm modello 830-0 30

The wiha Schonhammer mallet with a hickory wood handle and a 30 mm striking face (model 830-0 30) is a hand tool designed for controlled striking where a metal hammer would be inappropriate. The mallet combines a dense striking head with a resilient hickory handle to deliver precise blows with reduced rebound. It is suitable for assembly, woodworking, and delicate fitting tasks where surface protection and tactile feedback matter.

Advantages

The hickory wood handle offers natural shock absorption and a comfortable grip for extended use, while the 30 mm striking face concentrates force for accurate impacts. The tool’s construction minimizes damage to workpieces and reduces operator fatigue compared with harder metal hammers. Its balanced weight distribution supports controlled swinging and repeatable strikes in close-tolerance tasks.

How to use

Grip the hickory handle firmly but not rigidly, placing your dominant hand near the end of the handle for leverage and control. Align the 30 mm striking face with the target area and deliver measured, controlled blows rather than full-power swings to avoid overdriving or damaging components. For repetitive tasks, maintain a steady rhythm and allow the wood handle to absorb recoil; inspect the striking face regularly for wear and replace the tool if the head becomes excessively deformed.

Recommendations

Use the mallet on clean contact surfaces and avoid striking hardened metal edges directly. Store the tool in a dry place to preserve the hickory handle and check the head-to-handle fit before use to ensure safety during repetitive striking.
