Cavo Adaptec ACK-I-HDmSAS-HDmSAS-.5M

The Adaptec ACK-I-HDmSAS-HDmSAS-.5M is an internal 0.5 m Mini Serial Attached SCSI (Mini SAS HD) cable with SFF-8643 connectors on both ends. It is designed for direct connection between a SAS/SATA adapter and a SAS/SATA backplane, providing a compact, high-density link for servers and storage enclosures.

Advantages

This Mini SAS HD cable supports high-speed SAS and SATA data transfer and uses SFF-8643 connectors for a secure, low-profile connection. At 0.5 meter length it offers a balance between signal integrity and routing flexibility inside chassis. The cable is compatible with enterprise storage hardware from ADAPTEC and is suitable for use in rack-mounted systems and dense storage arrays.

Suitable for

• Connecting a SAS/SATA host adapter to a SAS/SATA backplane
• Internal server and storage enclosure cabling
• High-density rack-mount systems and storage arrays

How to use

Power off the server or storage enclosure before installation. Align each SFF-8643 connector with the corresponding port on the SAS/SATA adapter and the backplane, then insert the connectors until they seat firmly. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it clear of fans and hot components. After connection, power on the system and verify device detection in the storage controller or BIOS/UEFI.

Recommendations

Use the cable for internal connections only; avoid external exposure to moisture or mechanical strain. For optimal performance, maintain bend radius and avoid twisting. Verify compatibility with your SAS/SATA controller and backplane model prior to installation.
