tesa® Insulating Tape (Electrical tape TESA 56193-00001-22) is a PVC electrical insulating tape designed for general wiring and repair work. The tape is 10 m long and 15 mm wide, in white colour, and provides reliable insulation and protection for power cords, speaker and headphone cables, and household electrical devices. Its moisture- and chemical-resistant PVC construction makes it suitable for professional and DIY use where visible, neat insulation is required.

Advantages

The PVC composition offers good electrical insulation and resistance to moisture and common chemicals. The 15 mm width and 10 m length make it practical for small repairs and color-coding tasks. White colour provides clear visibility and a tidy appearance in installations. The tape is flexible enough to wrap around irregular cable shapes and restores basic electrical safety when used to temporarily repair damaged power cords.

Suitable for

• Insulating and repairing power cords and cable sheaths
• Color-coding wiring in entertainment systems and computer equipment
• Temporary repairs on household electrical appliances such as toasters and coffee machines
• General DIY and professional electrical maintenance tasks

How to use

Clean and dry the surface of the cable or device before applying the tape. Start wrapping the tape with slight overlap, stretching it minimally to ensure firm adhesion and continuous coverage. For damaged power cords, cover the exposed area completely and extend the tape onto intact insulation at both ends. Replace the tape or seek professional repair if the damage is extensive or if the cord shows internal damage.

Recommendations

Use this tape for temporary insulation and visual identification. Do not use it as a permanent fix for cables with compromised internal conductors; consult a qualified electrician for permanent repairs or replacements. Store the tape in a dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve adhesive performance.
