Nastro mascherante per modellismo REVELL 39696 — accessorio mascheratura per pittura modellismo

REVELL 39696 masking tape is a thin adhesive tape designed for precise masking in scale model building and painting. Intended for use on plastic model kits, it provides a clean separation between painted and protected areas during airbrushing or brush application. The tape is suitable for fine edges and detail protection, helping to achieve sharp paint lines and minimise paint bleed while preserving underlying surfaces.

Advantages

The tape offers high adhesive strength that holds securely during painting yet removes cleanly without leaving residue. Its thin profile enables accurate masking along small details and contours, reducing the risk of paint running under the edge. Available in narrow widths, the product supports layered masking for complex paint schemes and multi-colour finishes.

How to use

Clean the model surface of dust and oils before applying the tape to ensure good adhesion. Cut or tear the tape to the required length and press it firmly along the edge to be masked, smoothing out any gaps or bubbles. Apply successive strips as needed for wider areas, ensuring overlaps are flush to maintain a continuous seal. Paint over the masked area according to the paint manufacturer’s instructions and allow proper drying time. Remove the tape slowly and at a low angle to minimise lifting of the fresh paint.

Recommendations

For best results, test the tape on a spare part or inconspicuous area to confirm compatibility with specific paints and finishes. Use lower-tack options for very delicate or previously painted surfaces and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or high temperatures while the tape is applied.
