Key specifications

• Ribbon type: prewound, inked fabric ribbon
• Size/format: compatible with Gr.51 typewriter spool dimensions
• Compatible machines: manual and electric typewriters accepting Gr.51 ribbons
• Colour: standard printer black ink
• Use environment: general office and document preparation

How to use

Turn off or disengage the typewriter carriage or power before replacing the ribbon. Remove the used spool(s) according to the typewriter manufacturer’s guidance and fit the prewound ARMOR Armor S+U Gr.51 ribbon onto the spindles, ensuring correct thread routing across the type guide and through any tensioning posts. Advance the ribbon slightly to remove slack and test a few characters on scrap paper to confirm correct alignment and ink transfer before resuming normal typing.

Recommendations

Store spare ribbons in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve ink quality. For best results, replace the ribbon when characters appear faint or uneven; consistent ribbon tension and correct installation help maintain print clarity and reduce wear on the typeface.
