NETGEAR RBE870B tri-band (2,4 GHz / 5 GHz / 6 GHz) Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) nero 4 interno

The Netgear ORBI 870 WiFi 7 Tri-Band MESH-SATELLITE is a high-performance wireless extender designed to expand and strengthen an existing Orbi mesh network. Built around the latest WiFi 7 tri-band technology, this satellite unit supports aggregate throughput up to 21 Gbit/s and is intended to provide consistent coverage across larger homes or multi-room office spaces. The unit works as part of a mesh system to reduce dead zones, maintain low latency and support many concurrent devices while preserving the main router’s configuration and security settings.

Advantages

This MESH-SATELLITE leverages WiFi 7 tri-band architecture to increase backhaul capacity and device throughput without requiring additional cabling. Its design focuses on stable connections for high-bandwidth tasks such as 4K/8K streaming, cloud services and online gaming. The satellite is compatible with Orbi systems, enabling seamless handoff between nodes and simplified network management through existing Orbi interfaces.

Suitable for

• Large homes with multiple floors or distant rooms
• Small to medium offices requiring reliable wireless coverage
• Households with many smart devices, streaming and gaming consoles
• Environments where low-latency connections are important for real-time applications

Key specifications

• Wireless standard: WiFi 7 (tri-band)
• Maximum aggregate throughput: up to 21 Gbit/s
• Network role: Mesh satellite (works as part of Orbi mesh systems)
• Frequency bands: multiple 6 GHz / 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz operation (tri-band)
• Designed coverage: extended indoor coverage for large homes and offices
• Device capacity: supports many simultaneous clients with optimized scheduling

How to use

Connect the ORBI 870 satellite to power and place it within range of the primary Orbi router or another mesh node. Use the Orbi app or web management interface on the existing Orbi system to add the satellite; the setup process typically detects the new unit and applies the same network name, password and security settings. After provisioning, allow the mesh system a few minutes to optimize backhaul and client routing. Adjust the satellite placement if performance or coverage requires fine-tuning.

Recommendations

Position the satellite in an open area away from large metal objects and sources of interference (microwaves, cordless phones). For best performance, maintain a clear line of sight or minimal obstruction between the satellite and the router or adjacent nodes, and allow automatic firmware updates enabled to keep security and performance current.
