Why choose it

The OBO A 18 combines durability with installation flexibility. Its halogen-free polyethylene construction reduces toxic smoke and corrosive gases in the event of fire, enhancing safety for people and equipment. The IP55 rating ensures reliable protection against dust and water jets, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. UV resistance prevents material degradation from sunlight, so the box maintains its integrity even after years of exposure. The IK07 impact rating means it can withstand mechanical shocks without cracking, reducing the risk of accidental damage during installation or operation.

Ideal use cases

• Industrial control panels and machine wiring
• Outdoor lighting and power distribution
• Commercial building installations (offices, retail, warehouses)
• Renovation projects requiring flexible cable entry positioning
• Areas with high dust or moisture levels, such as workshops or basements

Good to know

The junction box has smooth walls without pre-stamped entries, allowing you to drill or punch holes exactly where your cable glands need to go. This not only ensures a perfect fit but also maintains the IP55 protection when proper cable glands are used. The screw-on lid with TPE seal provides a secure and reliable closure, preventing dust and water ingress. The box is surface-mounted and can be easily fixed to walls or panels using screws. Its compact size and light grey colour make it unobtrusive in most environments.
