Paglietta abrasiva 3M 07440, marrone, media, 224×158 mm

3M 07440 is a brown, medium abrasive hand pad sized 224×158 mm designed for manual surface preparation and finishing. The open-web construction and balanced abrasive grain enable light sanding, cleaning, blending and deburring on metal, wood and painted surfaces. This medium grade pad combines material removal with surface conditioning to support repair, maintenance and refinishing tasks without aggressive cutting or deep scratching.

Advantages

The medium abrasive structure offers consistent abrasive action and flexible conformity to curved or irregular surfaces. The pad resists loading and tearing during typical hand operations and can be rinsed for extended use. Its size provides broad coverage while remaining easy to control by hand, allowing precise pressure application and improved access to edges and contours.

Key specifications

How to use

Hold the pad with light to moderate pressure and move it across the surface using even strokes following the contour of the workpiece. For painted surfaces, use feathering motions to blend edges of repairs; on metal, use cross-hatch or linear passes as appropriate to the defect. Replace the pad when abrasive performance decreases or the pad becomes oversaturated with material. Rinse the pad under water to remove debris when allowed by the work process, and allow it to dry before reuse if repeated wet/dry cycles are undesirable.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection when sanding. Test on a small area where finish compatibility is critical. For best results, combine with compatible cleaners or primers recommended for the substrate and follow all safety and disposal guidance for removed coatings and debris.
