Router Wi-Fi TP-Link Archer A8 Gigabit Ethernet dual band (2,4 GHz / 5 GHz) nero

Archer A8 is a dual-band wireless router delivering up to 1900 Mbps total throughput with 3×3 MIMO and 802.11ac Wave2 technology. It offers broader home coverage with three external high-performance antennas, beamforming for directed signals, and full gigabit Ethernet ports (1 WAN + 4 LAN) for fast wired connections. The router supports MU-MIMO for simultaneous device communication and features Smart Connect and Airtime Fairness to optimize network efficiency. Advanced management options include parental controls and a separate guest network.

Advantages

The Archer A8 provides higher throughput for 3×3-capable devices, enabling better performance for computers with compatible wireless adapters. Dual-band operation separates routine tasks on 2.4 GHz from bandwidth-intensive activities on 5 GHz, reducing interference. Beamforming and three external antennas extend reliable coverage across a home. MU-MIMO improves simultaneous data delivery to multiple devices while Smart Connect and Airtime Fairness maintain balanced network access. Full gigabit ports ensure high-speed wired connectivity and built-in parental controls and guest network options allow straightforward management of access and privacy.

Key specifications

• Wireless standard: 802.11ac Wave2
• Total maximum speed: up to 1900 Mbps (combined)
• Antennas: 3 external high-performance antennas with beamforming
• MIMO: 3×3 MIMO
• MU-MIMO: supported
• Bands: Dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)
• Ethernet ports: 1 × WAN, 4 × LAN (Gigabit)
• Smart Connect: automatic band steering
• Airtime Fairness: supported

How to use

Place the Archer A8 centrally in your home and connect the modem to the WAN port using an Ethernet cable. Power on the router and follow the setup wizard via the web interface or mobile app to configure an administrator password, Wi‑Fi SSIDs and passwords for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Enable Smart Connect if you prefer the router to steer devices automatically between bands. Connect wired devices to the LAN ports for maximum speed and place wireless devices within range of the antennas; beamforming will help focus signal strength toward connected devices.

Recommendations

For best performance, position the router elevated and away from large metal objects or cordless phones, keep firmware up to date, and enable Smart Connect and Airtime Fairness if you have a mix of older and newer devices. Use the guest network for visitors to keep your primary network credentials private and configure parental controls to manage access for children.
